Our Aussie stars know how to impress when it comes to the latest red carpet trends, and this Sunday the 2017 Logie Awards will be no exception as we wait with anticipation to see them in their finest designer wear.
It goes without saying that red carpet hairstyles are followed just as closely as the elaborate ball gowns and jewels adorned by celebrities, and we have our own predictions for how hair will be worn at this year’s annual Logies.
Here are our top 5 hairstyle predictions for the Logie Awards red carpet!
Effortless and romantic, textured ponytails both high and low bring a soft and relaxed elegance to the red carpet, and are mind-blowingly gorgeous when given full body. We’re predicting some amazing bumpit enhanced ponytails with sleek or loose strands, effortless side rope twists to flatter jawlines, and sleek styles to show off the cool and polished look.
Super Sleek and Sexy
Considering one of the biggest trends for 2017 is the sleek, satin look both on the runway and off, there are bound to be some Australian celebrities donning straight, shiny and centre-parted hair. Whether slicked back into an elegant chignon or featured with extensions, glossy straight hair is what it will be all about and we’re anticipating a few bold statements will be made on the red carpet!
Deep Side Parts
The deep side part is far more dramatic than the usual side part, and can be worn with either the straight, sleek look or loose waves and curls. Either way, the style creates a natural volume at the crown, and evokes a vintage glamour feel. Deep side parts accentuate eyes and cheekbones, framing and elongating the face, and is so versatile it can work on every length – including the pixie cut! We won’t be surprised if we see a majority of celebrities sashaying to the ceremony with this hairstyle.
A fresh spin on the 1920s flapper-wave classic dubbed the S-wave, the use of beveled flat irons are back to create a loose wave texture that is universally loved from the red carpet to the everyday wearer. Tousled waves feature gentle curls and a touch of defined messiness without looking like beach hair, while shorter lengths can utilise natural waves with a softer touch. The Hollywood S-wave will be back on the red carpet this weekend, but with a modern, more subtle twist!
Okay, so it’s not a hairstyle per se, but two colour trends we are very much predicting to hit the Logies are balayage and bronde. These two transformative colour movements are perfect for warm tones like buttery blondes, burning browns and toasty reds. We envision seeing an abundance of balayage highlights featuring either shaded roots or concentrated ends as well as the bronde effect (‘Is it blonde, or golden brown?’). With bronde already a hit in celebrity circles, it will be interesting to see the trend’s colour tones our Aussie stars will be sporting.
We’ll be watching this weekend’s Logie Awards with anticipation to see which of our favourite celebrities won their categories, but we’ll also be keeping a very close eye on the pre-award show to see what hair trends will be on point, which hairstyles we fell in love with, and who wore what.
